Freebies

Some freebies you should know about:

1. Bare Escentuals:

You may have already heard about this from Rae and Jewels, but Sephora has free mini samples of BE foundation that comes with a tiny kabuki brush. They don't have a variety of shades though - mine had only Fairly Light left. The jar contains slightly less than 1 tbsp of product. See pic below if you're curious how small the jar and kabuki is - the brush is super tiny!

2. Laura Mercier:

Holt Renfrew has samples of their new Illuminating Tinted Moisturizer to give out - no purchase required. However, they only had the Bare Radiance shade when I went last weekend. Funny thing is, the MA didn't seem too thrilled about using it by itself, she actually told me to mix it with foundation or moisturizer. According to her, the product would be too shimmery on its own. I haven't tried mine yet though. Sample contains 14.7 mL of product.

3. La Mer:

Received another email from Holt Renfrew today saying they have free samples of the new Hydrating Infusion (sounds like a moisture serum to me). They also may have samples of other products - thanks to Angie I went to the counter and asked for a sample of Gel de la Mer last week :) Its tiny (only 3.5g) but the jar is cute :D

Nice samples! You should try to get the Hydrating Infusion sample! I loooove it. It's like a toner serum in between~

Ooooh that LM sample looks like a good size!

How do you like the gel so far?

The hydrating infusion is like a serum, but not completely. La Mer has a "infusion" category which includes hydrating infusion and radiant infusion. It goes on after toner and before serum. Complicated, I know haha. I use the radiant infusion and I love it. The bottle lasts a long time. I've used it since June and I have a 3/4 left. I really do think it has made my skin more radiant.

gotta love free goodies! did you have to buy anything at the counter? it's good they give away some samples for la mer. it's just too expensive to buy the whole thing. even if you can return it, i'd feel terrible to waste it since it's such an expensive item.

i LOVE the gel de la mer. i got the same sample jar when i bought the loose powder. the gel improved my skin immediately - i finished the amount in about 2 weeks but it's definitey on my wish list for a full-sized product.

Wow, thanks for this! Yay for Montreal having a Holt Renfrew too :).

Regarding your comment... ahh, Toronto winters. I actually saw a girl last year with high-heeled boots, shorts, and white tights downtown in the winter. lol If only I could be so brave. Then again I saw her in a TTC subway station, so maybe she didn't have to do a lot of walking after all.

Aww I want samples too!

The aveda hair powder isn't a shampoo but turns into a cooling gummy liquid when it comes into contact with the skin. I personally really do like TBS's serum and think that it's much better than clinique's because it absorbs well into the skin and makes it soft. Maybe you could ask for a sample at their store (they pump them into little plastic jars) to see how you like it. I use it during the day mostly under my SS before makeup. Not too oily to shift my MU!

have a great weekend!

I went for the BE sample and they said I had to wait in line... didn't end up getting one, as the line was over twenty people long and they only had ONE person working till!

Can't wait for the reviews :)

jewels: I got the sample of Gel de la Mer which is more like a gel :) They also have the infamous Creme de la Mer, a rich hydrating cream that supposedly works wonders - I haven't tried that though :)

fuzkittie & angie: I will! I plan to go next weekend again haha.

askmewhats: tell me about it! I haven't tried the samples yet for that reason...lol.

jiejie: Nope they were free, I just had to ask :) In Canada though if you buy cosmetics anywhere you can't return it once its used. Only in a new condition :( The sole exception is MAC yay :)

cheryl: which is why I'm afraid...for my bank account lol

gezebel: i remember that post! that sucked because you were so excited about it :S

terrishka: I guess she probably didn't have to walk far from the subway! I wish the system was more extensive up in the surburbs...I end up wearing ugly boots most of the time in winter :(

grayburn: thanks for replying my question :)

rae: lol I wasn't thinking of reviewing them because the samples are so small, but I'll do my best!
