*@#&#$)*! blackheads...

i haven't been online much lately this week, mostly because work is so busy i get home and go straight into zombie mode. also been trying to maximize time with the bf before he left on his trip this morning.

so i completely fubared this blackhead that i was trying to get out earlier today. so stupid.

blackheads are my worst enemy, i think they're worse than pimples because they just don't go away for me. pimples usually come up and disappear after a week or a bit more if i take care of them properly, but blackheads just stay on my skin for a good, long while.

I exfoliate twice a week or more, which I find has helped almost eliminate breakouts, but it doesn't seem to prevent blackheads.

the only way my blackheads ever disappear is if i get them out with a Biore pore strip, or squeeze them out using Q-tips. Even then, they usually reappear so I try to ignore most blackheads unless they are really large and noticeable. But there was one on my nose that had been bothering me for a while, so I waited until today (after V-day incase I had to take pictures...) to get it out. Anyway I don't think i need to go into the gross details, but fubared sums it up quite nicely.

I think i'll have a nice huge pimple to look forward to in the next couple days because of it :'( Perhaps I'll invest in that blackhead extractor next time instead of being cheap with Q-tips.

Doused that thing in some tea tree oil, hopefully it'll prevent the breakout / reduce it...but we shall see. My skin does seem to tolerate pure tea tree oil quite nicely, thats one good thing. Speaking of which, never, never buy The Body Shop tea tree oil, its overpriced, diluted down, and doesn't do anything. Plus it contains alcohol per the ingredient listing.

I'm w/you on the Body Shop tea tree oil. So much cheaper to get a vial of Jason's tea tree oil and add a drop to your toner or facial mask. Then again, tea tree oil in general seems to do NOTHING for me. I'm trying to get myself to eat at least one apple a day, though.

I've been contemplating a blackhead extractor myself. What's a good brand?

i'm the opposite. i hate, HATE pimples. i have this horrible thing where i feel like i HAVE to pop it. LOL. which is what is responsible for all of my scarring. LOL.

I have some trouble with blackheads too esp with around my nose. i just use birore strips like you... maybe you can try a biore blackhead remover for the nose in a thermal clay wash thing! i bought this stuff from japan lol. i havent had the chance to use it that much cos i got loads of nnose strips lol but it suppose to help.

http://www.kao.co.jp/biore/lineup/p_kobana.html (sorry it's in japanese!)

it comes in sachets and u put this clay liquid on your nose and you massage for 30 sec (it warms up) then you rinse. maybe also as your bf to pick that up. no harm in trying I guess =]

my worst enemies are whiteheads, cos they are SO hard to get rid of!!

Im with you on this girl, i hate my blackheads, pimples are another story, my fav pastime when i see them on my nose is squeezing them out , then im left with red areas on my face thats when my clay mask comes to the rescue, thats why sometimes i avoid magnifying mirrors lol. i also need to invest in a good blackhead extractor.hehe.

alienman: i don't know ...i think i saw one at Sephora but I'm sure there are less overpriced ones. I'm going to check them out at the drugstore for sure.
you don't like apples?

christianadivine: i can usually resist popping pimples because at least there are pimple gels I can slather on the area. that way i feel like i'm doing something for it. but with blackheads nothing has any effect on mine :(

nicnic: hmm...lemme know if it works for you? whiteheads are hard too, but thankfully i don't have much of those.

bliss: yeah i have a red area now around where i was trying to get the blackhead out :( let me know if you do find a good brand.

i looove those biore strips! i try not to squeeze 'em 'cuz i bruise really easy, and that's all i need is red splotches all over my nose! i saw a blackhead and whitehead extractor at sephora yesterday and almost got one; if you get one, let us know the results! alternatively, i've been using neutrogena's pore reducer (or sumthin like that) astringent/toner. it works reeeally well at clearing up my nose.

Awwww... I've just gone back to get my second bottle of tea tree oil from The Body Shop. It is a tad expensive (a bit over 6 euros here) but it lasts quite a while. I do find it quite effective for pimples (especially when used at the initial stage and for healing popped once), but maybe that's because I don't break out much. I also have two small bottles of pure tea tree oil, but the instructions say NOT to use it UNdiluted on the skin, which is why I sometimes mix it with almond oil... Do you use the pure ones directly on your skin?

i'm just really lazy when it comes to tucking in my daily fruits and veggies. i like apples but b/c of my TMD, i HAVE to cut them to eat them and it's such a hassle LOL

thanks for reminding me to eat an apple today!

gezebel: i got a red splotch now on my nose :( oh well, it usually goes away after a few days.

liz: yup i use the pure stuff even though I know you're not supposed to. My skin tolerates it well, as long as I don't apply it that often on the area. If I overuse it my skin will get dry though.
