blue lagoon

Quick FOTD using Shiseido hydro-powder in Languid Lagoon as a base...

I find this colour too bright to be used on its own, but its alright once paired with a darker colour to contour, such as MAC's Bell Bottom Blue pigment.

[Face]

  • Buff'd foundation in Sand
  • Silk Naturals perfecting powder
  • some highlighting + Everyday Minerals Sunlight concealer to tone down dark circles (didn't really work imo)
  • The She Space Passion Dance blush
  • MAC Emote blush to contour

[Eyes]

  • Urban Decay Primer Potion
  • Shiseido Hydro-powder in Languid Lagoon all over mobile lid lightly
  • RMK Shiny Mix Dots eyeshadow in Silver Pale Green on inner 1/2 of lid
  • MAC Bell Bottom Blue pigment on outer 1/2 of lid
  • a touch of MAC Naval Blue pigment to darken outer V
  • MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack to line top lid
  • Andrea Modlash #53's (these gave me so much grief that day! :S took 20 mins....)
  • [Edit: neglected to mention I used Wet n Wild Acapulco Glow bronzer to highlight.]

[Lips]

  • MAC Lip Erase in Dim
  • MAC Mattene lipstick in Flattering

Btw, The She Space's blushes are quite pigmented as well! Not quite as good as EM's but better than Silk Naturals' anyways.

Oooo I think this is by far my favorite color combo on you. Look how smexy you look in those falsies, you trying to flirt with me aren't ya? ;)

i can tell the difference, i think your eye bags were concealed quite well. this is a subdued blue look that i think i should try to copy... because i don't think blues look too great on me. so maybe a subdued blue look will look better. :) very pretty. and i really like those lashes on you! :D

Oh my goodness, this is GORGEOUS. One of the most well executed blue looks I have ever seen! It is so soft and pretty, I cannot gush enough about how much I love it. Also looks amazing against your pale skin, ahhh so pretty. *runs and copies look and fails miserably*

You look so pretty! I agree, that the hydro powder in languid lagoon is NOT that great on it's own. I bought it, hoing that it was less bright but yeah...it's nice when paired with other e/s.

awww thank you all for the positive feedback! it made my day :D

anonymous: sure thing! i hope it'll show up on cam since it is more of a light highlighting blush. will try this weekend!

thechas: its working well, though i found it still doesn't help me with sheer light coloured glosses :( i still wish i could de-pigmentize my lips lol.

chyix2: you're back! yay :) yep languid lagoon scared the heck out of me the first time i tried using it 2 months ago. almost regretted buying it until now lol.

You colorful looks always come out very fairy-like and soft. I STILL hate blue eyeshadows on me. Ugh.

Gorgeous combination! This is the kind of blue combo that's very wearable without being over the top. I like the softness of this blue, your blending is wonderful!

I know isn't it crazy! It's not her ex, but still so random! D:

Man now their posting they have 2 other palettes coming out. So maybe it was good I didn't get it yet. I have no idea why I continue to do business with CS really. Deep down it's cuz of Steve, he's such a sweetheart via email. I can't say the same for Kathy ~_~; I really got a good batch this 3rd time around! I've never tried their makeup, but so far all the reviews I read is it's better than their brushes. And damn it, it's from my favorite youtubers lol Evuullll

fei: i used to feel that way, but seeing all those looks by Rolos on ABB started changing my mind :) Might just be a matter of getting used to it. Or maybe you just need to find the right shade of blue?

jiejie: thanks hehe :)

ilurvemakeup: ah i see...too bad she doesn't post anymore :( i'd love to find out all about the wedding lol :)

oh thats great :) i always felt bad that you got crappy stuff that last time with the badger brush etc :S

blue isn't an easy colour to wear but u got it perfectly. i think it's probably because it works better on skintone that has a tinge of pink in it. gosh i need to use more colours in my makeup...
