Swatches: OPI Holiday In Toyland 2008

Remember how I said I had been hauling a lot lately? Here's some of it:

Four shades from the OPI Holiday In Toyland collection:

Left to right

2. A Ruby for Rudolph
3. Glamor Game
4. Brand New Skates

Also got OPI's Give Me the Moon (from an older collection) and my first bottle of Seche Vite:

Some closeups & comments:

Photobucket

A Ruby for Rudolph: Ruby red with red and gold shimmer
Glamor Game: Metallic warm champagne. A bit streaky so care is needed when applying.

Photobucket

Brand New Skates: Charcoal grey with gold glitter
"Sheer" Your Toys: Grey with lilac hue and subtle red glitter (if you look closely)

Photobucket

Give Me the Moon: Light grey with blueish duochrome (paper swatch below shows it the best)

Paper swatches
L-R: Give Me The Moon, "Sheer" Your Toys, Brand New Skates, Glamor Game, A Ruby for Rudolph

Nail swatches (with 2 coats) in the same order

(Excuse the dry cuticles...and you can probably see I messed up Give me the Moon and Glamor Game, oops :S)

Overall, all the colours are moderately pigmented so at least 2 coats is required. Some of the colours are quite unique (in my opinion anyway....and in my previously limited polish collection). I still feel like buying You're a Doll from the collection (a peachy nude with red glitter), but I'll wait a bit since I have so many colours to use now.

For full nail swatches you can check them out here - I relied on these swatches before ordering and they are quite accurate!

As for Seche Vite, I bought this because its supposed to be a quick drying top coat and I hate waiting for my nails to dry. The product is rather thick and I hate the smell of this because the chemical smell is quite strong. However it really does what its supposed to do. I applied it over still-wet polish, and only had to wait a few minutes for the top coat to dry. It protects your nail colour from chips too and gives it a nice shine.

Over the summer each time I went to Ulta, I bought 4+ OPI polishes and you're making me wonder why I ever stopped!! =P The polishes look great! I really like Sheer Your Toys and Give me the Moon!

You know, I'm kind of thinking the same thing about the Lorac Croc Case. It does have a lot of neutrals. But at the same time, I wear neutrals more often haha. I'm debating whether to get it or not.. chances are it should be a great palette considering current reviews and how great the Lorac Multi-platinum palette is!

Awww yeah I hope you can enjoy Sephora's FF soon!

Ruby is such a gorgeous colour! I have yet to buy an OPI product, but this is really making me want to buy one ASAP :P

The make up show, from what I am able to piece together from others, is basically a place to learn new things (techniques through seminars, demonstrations), and to try/get some new things for a reduced price.

I personally want to go for crown brushes, mac, and kryolan. Ah...but I haven't put in the order for my ticket yet...cause I don't know my schedule for the weekend yet. But I do hope I can go. It seems like a ton of fun!
