NY Trip: Cosmetics haul!

I got a lot of stuff...but considering each item costs an extra $10 or more in Canada I saved quite a bit. And I was lucky MAC's F&F discount was running that same weekend too :)

Skincare:

Clinique Moisture Surge Extra Thirsty Skin Relief gel-cream

The CCO had some Bobbi Brown shimmerbricks too - I really wish I had gotten this pink one I saw but my bf was with me and I didn't want to get too much then.

And actually....I ended up exchanging the two pigments last week - I really didn't like Old Gold on me and Fuschia was too similar to Pink Pearl for my liking. Getting Old Gold was a mistake - I had a sample of Gold Mode that I really liked and for some reason I thought the sample jar was labelled Old Gold. Only when I got home and compared the two I realised they were quite different :S I'm really lucky though that the manager at the MAC Store near me was understanding and allowed me to exchange the pigments even though I bought them at US pricing.

I did some comparisons of Brassy Fluidline vs Indianwood Paint pot that I already have.

Indianwood on top, Brassy on bottom

They do look very similar, though Brassy is more gold while Indianwood is more bronzy.

Also was curious to see how Cosmic eyeshadow compares with stuff I already have:

Top: Woodwinked eyeshadow
Middle: Cosmic eyeshadow
Bottom: Otherworldly blush (also from Moonbathe)

They are different side by side, Cosmic does have a more gold tone than but I could probably have skipped it since it looks so similar to Otherworldly.

What a haul! Is that cargo bronzer the one they give away for BI 100pts? It's soooooo cute! At first I thought it was an eyeshadow. hehe. Lemme know how you like it. I've been eyeing it for a looooong time now. You just reminded me of otherworldly.. it was my first mac blush.. poor blush, it feels neglected by now.

Btw, I love Clinique's products but they are a bit too pricely uh. =/

Don't mind if I add you to my blogroll?

I agree.. you're super lucky to find an Emote at the CCO! I'm so jealous!! lol.

I haven't seen any wet n' wild bronzers at the CVS by my work.. But are they really matte matte? Because I don't want ANY shimmer in them whatsoever lol (especially under the cali sun/heat)

I love the Clinique moisture surge for those days when my skin likes to act up and get all dry and flaky. :X

Nice MAC haul! Too bad you didn't like Old Gold - it's a really pretty color when you layer it over a black base. :)

Great haul!

My CCO is kind of far, but last time I went, they didn't have any from past collections really. Just stuff with like older packaging :P

Nice!

Oh! And thanks for the rec of the MAC lip exfoliator. Unfortunately, when I went to MAC over the weekend, they didn't have it. :( Oh well, I'll go back again eventually. :P

Hi there,

First time visiting your blog and I really like it. I was just wondering how'd you like the Clinique's Thirsty Skin Relief gel-cream? They have a new extended version that I've been wanting to get...which I believe is probably similar to this one.
